Introduction

This document presents the Modern Slavery Policy of medicalnegligenceclaimsukco.co.uk, a trading name of Velasco Limited, which is regulated and authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).

Organisational Framework

The management and strategic direction of the Company are overseen by its board of directors, while its operational activities are located in the North West of England.

Definition of Terms

In this policy, ‘modern slavery’ encompasses human trafficking, forced labour, and the exploitation of workers through abuse, humiliation, and restriction.

Commitment

Our Company is dedicated to playing a significant role in combating modern slavery, in line with the Modern Slavery Act 2015. This commitment is reflected in our ongoing efforts to scrutinize and improve both our internal operations and those within our supply chain.

We rigorously exclude any partnerships with organisations, both domestically and globally, implicated in or supportive of slavery, servitude, or forced labour. Moreover, we guarantee that our employment practices strictly adhere to UK labour legislation.

Supply Chain Oversight

Our core supply chain operations focus on providing legal services, facilitated by our office location in Liverpool and options for telecommuting.

Assessment of Risks

We identify the most significant threat of slavery and human trafficking within the lower-tier positions of our organisational hierarchy. Although this risk is minimal, we remain committed to implementing robust measures to eradicate such practices both within our Company and amongst our partners.

Global Influences

The outbreak of COVID-19 did not exacerbate our vulnerability to modern slavery issues. Our Company sustained stable relationships with suppliers and effectively shifted to remote working arrangements, ensuring our employees had access to grievance channels and continued to receive their salaries during isolation periods.

Forward-Looking Strategies

We undertake meticulous due diligence processes to root out slavery from our operations and supply chains. Future strategies may include the review of supplier agreements, conducting risk assessments, impact evaluations, developing action plans, and offering modern slavery training to our employees.

Evaluating Success

We establish and periodically update Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure our effectiveness in combating modern slavery.

Oversight and Compliance

Our compliance officer is charged with tackling modern slavery issues and ensuring the Company meets its legal and moral obligations.

This statement is in accordance with Section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and will be reviewed on an annual basis.
